The morning is a great time to do meditative for a number of reasons. The first reason is to do with the quietness of that period of time. You can do it just before the children wake up and get ready for school. If you partner is not happy to join in then you can do it even before they wake up. By the time that the morning routine takes off properly, you will already have finished your meditation. Of course this is the ideal time to avoid all the interruptions that are sometimes associated with meditation. There is no irate boss breathing down your neck. It is up to you to set the schedule for the day and you can do anything that you want. What is there not to like?
Planning your morning schedule for meditative Prayer
Make sure that you have a timetable so that there is no question of you missing out on the other important tasks for your daily routine. Set the alarm clock so that you wake up at the right time. Ensure that you sleep early enough so that there is no question of you failing to meet the requirements of your schedule. If you sleep too late then you will be contributing to an unhealthy lifestyle based on sleep deprivation. This is not an ideal way to proceed with things. You should be aiming for at least an hour of solid meditation before you begin the day. If you cannot quite achieve this target then you can compromise with about thirty minutes. You will find that you are quite cheery on the job. That is really the effect of good meditation.
The other thing about morning meditation is that you are demonstrably not tired. If you do this very late at night then your brain will be telling you to go to bed. The last thing that it needs is for you to sit still with your eyes closed. You might tumble to the floor due to exhaustion. In the morning you are bright and early. The brain is prepared for work and you can quietly meditate in a corner. There is a calming silence in the morning hours that you cannot find in any other part of the day. If you work the night shift then these attributes will not be favorable for you.
Meditating throughout the day
Do not just stop at the night for your meditation. Make sure that you get some time during the day to meditate. If someone is driving up the wall or the work is getting intolerable then take the time to sit it out. Meditate and see whether you cannot rescue the job once more. Instead of shouting at your boss in frustration, get down to meditating in prayer. It might save your job in the long run. It will certainly save your sanity. You should take these attitudes in order to ensure that you are prepared for the full benefits of a meditation session instead of getting stressed.
